Reasonable Suspicion Training: Alcohol
Safe driving requires precise skills, clear judgment, concentration, and the ability to react to what happens on the road. Drugs affect all of these skills, and not just illegal drugs. Prescription drugs and even over-the-counter medicines can affect a driver’s skills if they don’t follow instructions or their doctor’s advice.
The Reasonable Suspicion Training will educate employers and employees on driving impairment and what it means to highway and workplace safety. It will help attendees learn how to identify the signs and symptoms of impairment from alcohol and serve as a guide for establishing programs and practices within an organization.
This training is Part 2 of two trainings from TANY that meets the DOT 49 CFR 382.603 regulation which requires supervisors of commercial motor vehicle drivers who operate vehicles that require a commercial driver license to take 60 minutes of training on the symptoms of alcohol abuse and another 60 minutes of training on the symptoms of controlled substance use (120 minutes in total).
To complete Part 1, Reasonable Suspicion Training: Controlled Substance, you must register for the training on Monday, March 22 at 9:00 am.
A question and answer period will follow each session and a certificate of participation will be provided.
